Microneedling

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is one of the hottest procedures in aesthetic medicine. Microneedling targets fine lines, acne scars, traumatic scars, pores, pigmentation and improvement of the skin’s texture, tone, and color. The skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis with softer wrinkles.

At L'amour Medaesthetics we use the skinpen that creates micro-channels allowing topical gels, creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively.

Microneedling incorporates topical gels, creams, serums and, as an add-on, PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin), which is also known as PRF Microneedling.

The Microneedling treatment is appropriate for all parts of the body. The most popular areas are the face, neck, chest, hands, scars and stretch marks.

What to Expect:

A topical product such as hyaluronic acid or PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) is applied to the skin being treated. We then use a skinpen, which contains tiny needles that are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin to promote collagen and elastin growth. We select the appropriate setting based on your individual needs. Next, in a single motion, the pen will be gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.

We apply a topical numbing cream to the area 30 minutes before your treatment. The feeling associated with the skinpen is like a vibrating sensation. Some areas are more sensitive than others. Patients may feel minimal discomfort associated with the procedure.

Post-Care:

After your treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin. The entire healing time depends on the skinpen settings used and the number of overlapping passes we perform. On average, patients are red up to 2 to 4 days. On the 2nd day flaking will start to occur and this can last up to 3 days. By 2 weeks your skin will be completely healed. Many clients heal completely in less than 2 weeks, especially when using PRF, also known as the PRF microneedling.
